Gathering Foot For Janome With 9mm Stitch Width

The Gathering Foot is great for making small, gentle gathers on light weight fabrics. Like those used in heirloom puffing, and frilling or shoulders. The underside of the foot is raised behind the needle it allows the fabric being sewn to gather or ruffle as it is being sewn.

This foot is great to demonstrate in our sewing classes. Once in place on the machine, tighten the thread tension slightly then run a piece of lightweight quilting cotton material under the foot and out pops lovely gathers!

The gathering foot is recommended for light to medium weight fabrics. An alternative would be the "ruffler attachment" for adjustable pleats or gathers using medium or heavier weight fabrics.

Suitable for Janome sewing machines with the 9mm stitch width.
