One of the more popular feet for Janome sewing machines. This ditch quilting foot is a very useful when making a quilted cushion or even a full size traditional quilt.
It is used to sew stitches precisely down the centre of a seam. The guide on the foot spreads the seams allowing you to stitch perfectly in the ditch. It is know as the quilters stitch-in-the-ditch tool.
It can also be used as a edge guide, when the sewing machine needle position is set to ether the left or right depending on what seam is being sewn.
