The 4423 is the next step up the ladder in the heavy-duty range from Singer. It offers lots of stretch stitches for ever-edging or even straight stretch for hemming or seams. Use the single dial to choose one of the 23 stitch options, including the one-step buttonhole. Other popular stitches include blind hems and reverse sewing.

It has 23 stitch functions including many stretch stitches as well as one-step automatic buttonholes and built-in auto needle threader. It also has a lever at the rear that can quickly be moved into a position that will drop the feed dog and allow darning or free-motion embroidery.

It has its own individual style and Singer has designed the 4423 with simplicity in mind, threading is simple, following the numbered threading arrows. The top loading bobbin, auto de-clutch bobbin winder, and twin needle sewing option make it a good universal model for beginner to intermediate-level dressmakers or students. It also has a full range of utility and stretch stitches.

It is powerful too and packs a 90 watt motor to power it's way through multiple fabric layers. Zig zag width is 6mm for decorative patterns, with the option to adjust the stitch length up to 4mm.
