The Janome HD9 professional is a straight stitch powerhouse! The "HD" stands for Heavy Duty and understandably so. Fast stitching speeds and smart design make it the perfect sewing machine for quilting, curtain making, dressmaking or repairs! It's an industrial quality packed with unique features not normally found on a domestic model.

It boasts additional extras, like automatic thread cutter, to cut the top and bobbin threads at the push of a button. Pressure foot adjustment allows up to 5Kg of pressure, through the foot, to power through even the thickest layers of fabric. Each adjustment can be monitored through the window near the tension unit. Multiple layers of heavy canvas or denim, are no problem for the power of the HD9.

Other electronic enhancements are the memorized UP/DOWN needle setting, and wide foot control, which can be used with both feet for greater speed control, It's the electronic type, and when used in conjunction with the maximum sewing speed slider, gives full power to the needle, even when stitching at the lowest speeds.

Well-engineered with sealed bearings on shafts, an aluminium body in gloss white and grey, the longer arm provides 50% more working space than other models. It has a high-powered motor which can sew up to 1600 stitches per minute - 40% faster than most machines. And it is a flatbed, styled for those bigger projects such as home furnishing, bridal wear, and quilting.

Industrial quality tension control, variable foot pressure, a built-in needle threader, a knee lifter, a speed control lever, a needle up/down memory key, twin lights, and a unique automatic thread cutter complete the exterior features of this machine. You can even wind a new bobbin whilst sewing, thanks to the telescopic thread guide and two spool pins.

This Janome HD9 sewing machine is the ideal machine for the serious sewing enthusiast who is looking for precise, quality straight stitching at double the normal speed. The stitch length can be adjusted from near zero, up to 6 mm by tuning the dial, the stitch length will show in the window. A reverse lever, just like an industrial machine, is large and quickly accessible on the right side. 

Notably, it includes a detachable extension table giving extra sewing space (27" x 14"), an invisible zip foot, and the clever industrial style roller foot, one of our photos shows it being used to sew denim. Use it for better visibility, enabling you to easily manipulate the fabric for sewing rounded edges and curves with accuracy.
