The Janome Sewist 725S is a mechanical sewing machine designed to meet the needs of both novice and experienced stitcher. It is a popular model and has been used on the BBC's Sewing Bee in the past. Boasting, being lightweight with a top loading, jam-proof bobbin system and convertible free arm for circular stitching options, all built in and ready to use.

It is the first Janome in the line-up to offer a top-loading bobbin, it has a see-through cover to view how-much thread is left on the bobbin before starting to sew a new project. This 725s has 23 utility stitches and functions with an automatic one-step buttonhole facility.  It offers both stitch width (5mm) and length (4mm) adjustment and a drop feed facility for freehand embroidery and darning. While it does include an instruction manual; the front cover shows the stitch options available and each stitch is identified by a letter, simply use the dial to select the desired stitch, it is as simple as that. Maybe you would never need to open the manual!

The machine offers a stitch width selector and push-lever reverse. Other features include a horizontal spool, easy stitch selection, lay-in threading, and a sleeve arm design.

Some must-haves are the auto-declutch bobbin winder as is the hard protective cover, it can be left safely under its protective cover while not in use. We love the built-in needle threader, it makes threading the needle eye somewhat quicker.

Weight is only 6.7kg which is light enough for easy lifting, yet strong and sturdy for heavy sewing jobs, thanks to its aluminum internal chassis.
