The Onyx 15 from Husqvarna Viking is a lightweight sewing machine, and is aimed towards the beginner sewer, yet it is sturdy, robust and has a built-in needle threader.
With a selection of 23 stitches, one of them being a 4-step buttonhole which can be sewn any length in a simple 4-step sequence. The stitch selection dial located on the front panel is large and easy to dial a stitch. The length can be adjusted by its second dial, this is also where you can choose one of the blue or grey stretch stitches.

This guide provides detailed recommendations on which presser foot to use, the appropriate tension settings, and the correct length and type of stitch. The panel also features icons that clearly depict the various types of stitches available, such as buttonholes, seams, blind hems, and more. With the Husqvarna Onyx 15, you can confidently select and execute the perfect stitch for any sewing project.
The automatic needle threader is a significant help while threading the needle eye, and the top loading bobbin is fast to wind, thanks to the auto declutch system with automatic stop when the bobbin is fully loaded with thread. The bobbin can be viewed at any time, to check there is enough thread, before starting a larger project, e.g. hemming curtains.
The Husqvarna Onyx 15 comes with 7 different presser feet, and each one can be quickly attached by clipping it, into position. The edging foot is a favorite, it is used when edging to help stop the fabric edge from curling while it is being sewn.
