Brother Airflow 3000 Overlocker

Not only is the Brother AirFlow 3000 overlocker a fast stitcher, it also threads faster thanks to a blast of air threading both upper and lower loopers, as well as an automatic built-in needle threader for one or two needles. Which in turn means, no more threading errors!

A simple press of the automated Airflow button will push/suck the threads right through the eye of the looper and that's it, simple. Just as you would find on a computerised sewing machine, this Brother Airflow 3000 uses a very similar type of auto needle threader to thread both needles. We also love the LED lights, which are positioned above the presser foot, giving a bright light to illuminate the full sewing bed area.

The sewing bed is over 13” long which makes a good material rest whilst overlocking larger items. Included with the machine is the fabric cut-off tray which clips into place to catch thread ends and fabric off-cuts and does a nice job of keeping your sewing space tidy.

Yes, I have mentioned it's a fast stitcher, but it is controllable; the Airflow 3000 includes an electronic foot speed controller. The electronic part means greater speed control, at slower speeds. It also means when you are overlocking very slowly, the motor is still getting full power to the needles, to precisely penetrate many layers of fabric. You don’t need to speed up to overlock multiple layers or thicker materials.

Switching between stitches can't be any easier. Clip on a presser foot, or slide the quick change rolled hem lever and choose between smoother rolled hem or wavy edge rolled hems. Swing the lever to move the top cutter, hence no fabric trimming. Or adjust the stitch settings for cutting width from 5.5 mm up to 7.5 mm. Set the differential feed for gathering or to stretch width overlocking (differential ratio 0.7mm – 2.0mm). The overlocking stitch length can also be adjusted (1.0mm – 4.0mm).
