Bernette B68 Pro Airlock Overlocker/Coverstitch

It can cut, sew and finishes fabric edges in one step, it can sew coverstitch hemming and decorative stitching, it has touch button air threading. All this and more are packed in to the new Bernette b68 Pro Airlock, it is a combined overlock & coverstitch machine.

The B68 Pro is a larger style machine, may be because it has so much packed in to it, with a 130mm to the right of the needles, the is enough space for cover stitch hemming larger projects. Even more extra space is available thanks to the slide-on table, it pushes into place to extend the sewing area to the left, to the front and rear. Use it as a fabric rest to help feed your garments through the B68 smoothly. 

Key features:

Micro Thread Control (MTC)

A first is the micro thread control, which saves-time and archives the ultimate balanced overlocked edge, giving consistent high-quality stitches. A slight adjustment moves the needle plate fabric guide tongue, left or right, it makes it easy to achieve a well-balanced stitch at any given cutting width.

5-Needle holder

The needle holder has two sections, together it holds 5 needles. The front section is for coverstitch needles, the rear is for the overlocker needles. The B68 has 5-threads in total, and using a combination of different needle positions and varying number of threads, the B68 can sew a total 31 different overlock, cover, chain and combo stitches are available.

B68 Pro Airlock

Using 2, 3, 4, or 5 threads and a blast of air to thread the loopers, a quick push on the button and each looper can be fully threaded in less than 1 second, automatically threaded individually or all 3 loopers at the same time, thanks to air-threading.

LED Lights

Bright LED’s (5 in total) light up the working area. They illuminate the needles, foot and work area well.

Sleeve Arm

A sleeve arm is not always available on coverlock machines. It makes for seaming cuffs and smaller tube projects more manageable.

Factory Style Knee Lift

Just like being in a factory environment the Bernette B68 Pro includes a knee lifter, you can manoeuvre the fabric with both hands, and use the knee lift to help set it, ready to topstitch in the correct position.

Flip Down Front

As with most overlockers the front can be flipped down to reveal the loopers. This space is used for using the air threading system, and storing accessories. Keep spare needles, tweezers, needle threader, 2-needle converter attachment and lint brush handy. There is also a quick reference colour threading chart.

Differential Feed

• Use differential feed is full adjustable for pucker-free seams or gathering and ruffling lightweight materials.
• The default setting - The differential feed in default setting No. 1 for flat and even seams.
• To gather intentionally, increase the differential feed to a value between 1.5 and 2. 
• To prevent a waving edges, increase the differential feed to a value between 1 and 2. 
• To prevent seam puckering, reduce the differential feed to a value between 0.6 and 1. 

High-Speed

It has true performance, the Bernette B68 Pro has a metal chassis with solid and stable construction which allows it to smoothly stitch at an incredible 1300 stitches-per-minute. That can speed up anyone’s garment construction.

Colour Code Threading Paths

Colour-coded one-path threading enables you to easily switch between Overlock, Cover stitch or Combo stitches in no time at all. Each thread guide is designed for easy threading, the bonus is the air looper threading.!
