Some models combine overlock stitches together with a cover hem stitch. These models usually use 5 threads, however, some use even more. In fact up to 8 threads.!

Singer ELITE SE017 Overlocker - I have wanted an Overlocker for ages and happened across Seeing Machine Sales. The customer service was excellent. Its true, the brother overlocker is great for a beginner and i should know, getting the great price and a next day service made a difference too and the staff were so helpful to sort out my order, 1st class all the way. Having a supplier local was important should anything go wrong but this machine looks and feels perfect for the job.

I've used aToyota overlocker for years but decided to buy the Heavy Duty Singer Overlocker and I must say it's slick and easy to use. It's fast and smooth as well as fairly quiet. Threading it was fairly straightforward but I know I'll be checking tutorials on YouTube in future. It arrived with 4 reels of cotton, 3 pairs of scissors, threading tweezers, spare needles, a needle threader and spare blade. I needed to replace my Pfaff Coverlock 3.0 because, although that is a lovely machine, at 80 years old, my fingers and eyesight, are no longer able to cope with the threading of the loopers. I wanted the lay in threads, differential feed and automatic tension setting I was used to, combined with the "Jet Air" looper threading that would enable me to carry on enjoying my sewing. The Babylock Victory has proved to be the perfect choice. I have used it for two weeks now and can set it up and start to sew within 5 minutes instead of struggling for 30 minutes or more! It is a fabulous little machine. I have also discovered that this machine is easier to change the needles as it has big screws instead of the minute ones needing an allen key, another advantage for the less able. The speed of delivery and communication were perfect. I was kept informed of progress throughout and the packaging was sturdy and yet easy to open and access. One point I would make is that I searched for the Babylock Guarantee inside the box, when on the box it'self the web address to register purchase and activate the 4yr. cover was clearly visable. I was just too eager to get a look at my new toy to see it! This company has convinced me to buy from them in the future. Well Done!

really good coverstitch top stitches very straight so great with jeans and knits hems--i will be using it more with the new curtains. i havent tried the overlock part but judging from the coverstitches i am sure they are just as nice very good for the price
