Mechinacal, vs. Computerised?
Mechinacal, vs. Computerised?
I would love a computerised sewing machine, but feel it would be too complex to use!, that's not necessary a true statement...! In fact, computerised sewing machines are easier to use than mechanical models. Which equals an easier to use sewing machine.
- Mechanical machines are simpler and more affordable, have fewer stitches, or, may not even have stretch stitches! They usually have a front-loading bobbin. Selecting is stitch is via a mechanical dial, width and length will need to be set to get the perfect stitch for your needs.
- Computerised machines offer advanced features like automatic and preprogrammed stitch formation, LCD screens with helpful information about length and width settings, and many programmable patterns. Lettering with memory can be saved for another day. DC motor gives smoother power delivery to the needle, Box feed gives ultimate stability with less vibration and no fabric slippage.
- No dials or levers to worry about when using an electronic type sewing machine.
- Advanced Speciality Machines: If you need specific functions (e.g., embroidery, overlocking, or heavy-duty sewing), consider a machine designed for that purpose.
