Viking Husqvarna Designer Topaz 40 Embroidery Sewing Machine

The newest Husqvarna Viking Designer Topaz sewing and embroidery machine is an improvement on the Topaz 30 which it is to replace and it’s cheaper so you get better value for your money with the Topaz 40. The Designer Topaz 40 has a collection of 208 sewing stitches, if you also include the font letters and symbols that 565 all together. In addition there are also 100 built in embroidery designs and a USB stick for easy transfer of your own designs.

Navigate around The Topaz 40 with ease using the brightly coloured LCD touch screen and also has the famous Husqvarna EXCLUSIVE SENSOR SYSTEM and the SEWING ADVISOR built into it. The sewing advisor is a fantastic aid when sewing various thicknesses and weaves of materials. You tell the machine what material you are sewing from Leather, Jersey and Cotton Light Heavy or Medium weight, then you tell it what you want to du such as blindhem and the machine selects the stitch and tell you what foot to put on which the Sensor System sets your tension for you…. It is that easy.

This medium sized sewing machine has a sewing bed area of approximately 8 inches or 200mm which is generously lit by 3 cleverly position bright white LED lights. Because of the space this machine offers and the smooth forward curve of the sewing bed it is great for large projects from Bridal wear to heavy furnishings. Like many Husqvarna machines the designer topaz 40 still boasts to have the thinnest free arm of any domestic sewing machine on the market at just 10.5 inches around kid’s trouser legs and sleeves fit over with ease.

This sewing machine has 5 different speed settings so that you can always keep in control. The varios speed setting are also great when free motion sewing. This machine has two different free motion or darning modes there’s the Spring freemotion where the foot bounces up and down freely and there’s the floating mode which is a lot more controlled and calm. Of the 565 stitches this machine has 7 of them are different style button holes and there also an eyelet stitch and there’s even a stitch for sewing on buttons, plus 4 different styles of alphabet, the remainder are a mixture of utility stitches and complex and beautiful decorative stitches. It also has 18 personal memory storage banks for your own combination of stitches to be saved and stored.

In embroidery mode this machine can embroider an area up to 240x150mm there are 100 built in designs which can be easily selected and previewed as thumbnail designs on the colour touch screen. When the designs are loaded up you can add a grid sheet to the screen to give you a better idea of the proportions and layout of the design before sewing it out. The Topaz 40 will also allow you to overlay up 5 designs at once this is commonly used when surrounding a design with text. You can load and view multi format designs on this embroidery machine and before stitching your design you can choose to stitch in full colour or monochromatic one colour. Design can be modified and moved on screen you can rotate, resize, stretch, squash and rotate in 1 degree increments to ensure the design is perfectly placed and in proportion.

Because of the Sensor System the Topaz 40 embroider machine will let you embroider with various threads thanks to its clever design and engineering done in Sweden. Metallic threads, rayon, sulky all of them this machine will sew them all with no problem, if you run out of bobbin thread half way through an embroidery design don’t worry the Topaz 40 has a built in secondary motor solely for winding the bobbins so you no longer have to remember and write down the stitch count, save the design and reload it to continue.
