Husqvarna Designer Jade 35 Sewing and Embroidery Machine

Wow, Lets begin with the stunning design of the new Husqvarna Viking Designer Jade 35. The facade of the Jade 35 is extremely alluring it makes you just want to take a sneaky peak every time you lay eyes on it. With it cleverly and uniquely designed accessory compartment the machine whist stored hardly looks like a machine at all but more a hard cover all in one.

Once you remove the accessory tray and lift the lid you are engulfed in a world of intrigue. What do all the buttons do? What do all the symbols mean?.... From thread cutters to speed control they all have their place. The majority of buttons you find on the Jade 35 are for the illustrious sewing adviser, you simply tell the machine what kind of fabric you are using and what technique you want such as blind hem and the machine selects the right stitch, length, width and even tells you which foot to use and what type of needle, foolproof.

The machine its' self has loads of features you come to expect on a machine of this quality such as the Automatic Thread cutter, Automatic Thread Tension, Variable Speed Control, Built in needle threader and LED lights.

In Sewing Mode:

It is packed full of extra goodness. With 120, 7mm stitches to choose from and 2 alphabets and 4 different, 1-step auto sizing buttonholes, there's plenty of variety to keep you busy for a while. We have already mentioned briefly the Exclusive Sewing Adviser, which is like having a tutor with you to help out when you need them to.

With the huge stitch variety there is still more room to play with stitch programming so that you can string a sequence of stitches together to form repeatable patterns without having to start stop all the time. Speaking of start stop you can do that as well if you prefer, there's no need for a foot control.

The needle up/needle down feature is particularly handy not only for it obvious feature of raising and lowering the needle or setting the needle to stop in the fabric when you want it to stop for pivoting, but if you're a cautious sewer like me you will find using this button to create a single stitch at a time will give you pinpoint accuracy and precision, for even greater precision the Designer Jade 35 have 29 variable needle positions so getting tight against piping, zips or even obscure corners is made easier.

Drop feed function is on this machine as well you can select any stitch to use on free-motion embroidery and with a much larger area than a standard domestic machine to the right of the needle there's plenty of space to manoeuvre and play.

In Embroidery Mode:

Embroidery is where all the fun happens. The Husqvarna Designer Jade has 70 embroidery designs on USB for easy access and quick embroidery. You can also import your own design by using the USB stick provided or by connecting your machine directly to a computer and running the FREE software Intro provided, which has an additional 72 designs.

The machine has a built-in font which can be embroidered in three different sizes, but also the free complimentary software has a Quick font facility to enable you to create font designs from the fonts in your computer using true font or open fonts.

Once your design is selected, you can rotate and resize and even check the corner positions to make sure it is exactly where you want you design to be. To limit the fabric movement you can baste around you design first to make sure the fabric is fixed in place to the stabilizer or backing.

As you start to embroider you can sit back and relax, but not for too long as the machine has fantastic high embroidery speed, if you want to go back or forward in your design you can by either skipping entire colour blocks or by jumping through individual stitches.

The embroider area 240 x 150mm is also very impressive on the Jade 35, the clever design is not just aesthetic but also mechanically as there is no compromise when it comes to getting the best from this machine.
